Transport for The Seniors of Crowthorne
Crowthorne Good Neighbours is a voluntary scheme to transport elderly and/or infirm people to hospital / doctor / dentist appointments. It is not associated in any way with the Crowthorne Community Minibus but helps similar people in a different way.
The Good Neighbours scheme relies on volunteer drivers who use their own cars to collect people from home and take them to and return them from their appointment. The service is free to passengers although they usually show their gratitude by a donation. Drivers are reimbursed by the scheme on a mileage basis at 45p per mile.

Now, this is an unashamed promotion for the software that gave rise to the current online web app that runs our minibus communications, taking requests from passengers, allocating seats and keeping everyone informed.
The original good neighbours administration and booking system can be seen at https://gntm.co.uk. This is the foundation for the Crowthorne Community Minibus system.
Stotfold Good Neighbours Group achieved the Kings Award for Voluntary Service (KAVS) and were quick to acknowledge that this software was essential in helping them achieve the KAVS award.
